PARK RIDGE, IL -- The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) announced the appointment of Jim Nulsen as its new chief innovation and growth officer, effective October 19, 2026.
Nulsen brings more than 20 years of experience building and scaling growth, partnerships, and innovation initiatives across safety, compliance and software-as-a-service (SaaS) markets. Most recently, he was the founder and principal consultant at Growth Disco LLC, where he served as fractional revenue leader for Ally Safety. In this role, he led the company’s revenue and growth strategy across sales, client success, retention, partnerships, channels and sponsorships, helping increase revenue fourfold over two years while more than tripling the customer base.
Previous leadership roles include head of partnerships for the Americas at Go1; vice president of strategic partnerships at Vector Solutions; and vice president of business development at Scenario Learning. He has a proven track record of building scalable growth strategies, developing new partnership models, and creating new sources of revenue.
“We are pleased to welcome Jim to ASSP, where he will play a key role in advancing our growth, industry influence and innovation by translating technical safety expertise and standards into scalable market solutions,” says Jennifer McNelly, chief executive officer, ASSP. “As we continue to place strategic focus on reducing serious injuries and fatalities, we will be looking to Jim’s proven expertise and leadership to develop innovative, data-driven solutions that reduce risks and save lives in the workplace.”
Nulsen holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Miami University in Ohio. He will report directly to McNelly and oversee the sales and business development team, and the standards development and technical services team.
