    Contributed by FSM Staff

HAMILTON, ON -- The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) announced the winners of the 2026 Dick Martin Scholarship, an award that encourages interest in the field of occupational health and safety.

“It’s inspiring to see the dedication these students have shown to their studies. We’re proud to support this year’s scholarship recipients as they continue working toward their goals, building their futures, and enhancing the field of occupational health and safety,” said Anne Tennier, president and chief executive officer, CCOHS.

David Ginter (University of New Brunswick) and Jacky Law (British Columbia Institute of Technology) have been selected as this year’s winners and have each been awarded $3,000. Additionally, their respective academic institutions will each receive $500.

The Dick Martin Scholarship is open to post-secondary students studying full-time or part-time towards a certificate, diploma, or degree in occupational health and safety at an accredited Canadian college or university. A panel of health and safety professionals select recipients based on specific criteria, including the submission of an essay on injury prevention or research addressing a specific workplace hazard or risk.

Information about the Dick Martin Scholarship Award can be found on the CCOHS website: www.ccohs.ca/scholarships.
