  • Registration Now Open for FGIA FENBC Region Virtual Summit

    SCHAUMBURG, IL -- Registration is now open for the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) FENBC Region Virtual Summit, taking place on October 29. This annual online event will feature commercial and residential topic coverage and the latest updates from industry leaders.

    Register now for this exclusive event dedicated to exploring the latest trends in the fenestration industry in British Columbia.

    “FGIA is proud to host top level experts in important positions that set codes and standards and are in the know of what’s going on in both BC and Canada,” said Florica Vlad, FGIA Events Manager. “Join us remotely on October 29. You don’t want to miss it!”

    The preliminary schedule for the summit is now available, with the final schedule to be published in the coming weeks. Sponsorship opportunities for companies to promote their involvement are also available.


    Summit Speakers
    Sessions will allow participants to:
    • Learn about an update to the Canadian Federal Plastics Registry with Dr. Peter Mirtchev (Chemistry Industry Association of Canada)

    • Hear what is next for the BC Building Code with Ken Kunka and Scott Williams (BC Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs)

    • Understand how SHGC caps impact whole building energy calculations with Anton Van Dyk (JRS Engineering)

    • Anticipate the impacts of Canadian code changes and updated standards, including the Canadian Building Code, CSA A440S1 and CSA S520:22, with Robert Jutras (UL Lab Canada)

    • Take in a Code Talkers Panel with panelists Jeff Baker (WESTLab Canada), Dave Goldsmith (Ply Gem Canada), Neil Norris (RDH Building Science) and Anton Van Dyk (JRS Engineering)

    • Receive a legislative update on the region from FENBC Region President, Jennifer Sawicky (Bothwell-Accurate) and Director of Canadian Codes and Advocacy, Amy Roberts (FGIA)


    Registration Fees
    The fee for FGIA members is $125. A company upgrade for three to 10 participants is available for an additional $200. Non-members can register for a fee of $360. Five percent GST is included in the registration.
