  • Genesis+HOCl Sets a New Standard for Indoor Air Quality

    Contributed by FSM Staff

FREDERICK, MD -- During Air Quality Awareness Week 2025 (May 5–9), Genesis+HOCl called attention to a little-known but powerful clean-air solution that's just beginning to gain ground in the United States: HOCl atomizing.

While the public has long relied on filters, air purifiers, and chemical disinfectants to clean their indoor spaces, HOCl (hypochlorous acid)—a compound produced naturally by the human immune system—is emerging as a safe, non-toxic, and highly effective way to disinfect air and surfaces simultaneously. It's already widely used in Japan and South Korea, but American homes and businesses are just beginning to catch on.

"Most people don't realize the air inside their homes is often far more polluted than the air outside," said Ruth Bernard, co-owner of Genesis+HOCl. "Our atomizing systems disperse nature's own defense molecule into the air to neutralize airborne viruses, mold, bacteria, and allergens—without chemicals, without ozone, and without compromise."

HOCl: Nature's Answer to Indoor Pollution
HOCl, or hypochlorous acid, is produced by white blood cells to combat infection and pathogens. In stabilized form, it can be dispersed into indoor environments as an ultra-fine mist—naturally neutralizing airborne contaminants while gently cleaning all exposed surfaces.
Unlike traditional filters that simply trap particles, or chemical foggers that leave residues, HOCl atomizing works actively in the air and is safe to inhale. It's also free from synthetic fragrances, dyes, irritants, or allergens.

A recent article published by Scientific American (May 2025) titled "Hypochlorous Acid Is Trending in Skin Care and Cleaning—But Does It Work?" explored the rise of HOCl's popularity in wellness and infection control circles, further validating its growing mainstream appeal.
Genesis+HOCl is among the first U.S.-based companies to harness this technology at scale, offering commercial and residential units that support healthier indoor environments across industries—from healthcare to hospitality, animal care, and wellness facilities.

    Clean Air, No Compromises
"We believe clean air shouldn't come with trade-offs," the company added. "Our customers use HOCl because it's effective and gentle. It doesn't trigger allergies, irritate lungs, or create chemical pollution. It just works—like nature intended."

Genesis+HOCl is a U.S.-based leader in natural air and surface disinfection technology. With decades of experience in infection control, the company's HOCl atomizers bring together science, safety, and sustainability—offering a powerful, chemical-free way to eliminate airborne pathogens and surface contaminants.
