QUINCY, MA -- The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the University of Maryland (UMD) Department of Fire Protection Engineering are hosting the second biennial Fire & Life Safety Ecosystem Symposium on September 24 and 25, 2024, at the UMD campus in College Park, Maryland.
When NFPA® introduced the Fire & Life Safety Ecosystem™ in 2018, it drew a lot of interest from fire and life safety professionals worldwide.
This symposium invites professionals from various disciplines to share their knowledge and ideas, engage in group discussions, and attend panel presentations. Participants will gain insights into the principles of the Ecosystem and learn about the significance of collaborative efforts in reducing risk and promoting safety. The event will cover topics such as:
• Fire hazards in renewable energy
• Residential fire challenges
• Wildland urban interface (WUI) fires
Regardless of whether you’re a researcher, academic, risk manager, code official, engineer, architect, member of the fire service, policymaker, or urban planner or involved in any related profession, this event is important for the work you do in the community.
