FALLS CHURCH, VA -- AIHA has issued a new set of health and safety priorities for infrastructure and construction workers and employees (PDF), designed to inform congressional and the White House policies.
As the Biden Administration negotiates with the congressional leaders on a new infrastructure spending plan, AIHA urges Congress and the White House to prioritize the health and safety needs of infrastructure workers. AIHA’s infrastructure and construction priorities address urgent needs such as workforce development; hazard communication and training; research, development, and deployment; and the enforcement of workplace health and safety requirements.
“We're on the cusp of a once-in-a-generation investment in our nation's infrastructure,” said Mark Ames, AIHA’s director of Government Relations, “which makes this a crucial time to invest in the health and safety of infrastructure workers.”
