Print Article Contributed by FSM Staff

HAMILTON, ON -- The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Established in 1978 by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Act, CCOHS is Canada's national resource for advancing workplace health and safety.

The purpose of the act is to promote the rights of workers in Canada to have a healthy and safe working environment through the creation of a national institute focused on the study, encouragement and advancement of occupational health and safety.

The center, at 135 Hunter St. E., promotes the physical, psychosocial and mental health of workers in Canada by offering information, education, tools and solutions to improve physical and mental health and prevent work-related injury and illness.
