Foot Doctor Cautions to Watch Your Step

Print Article Contributed by FSM Staff

NORMAL, IL -- Dr. Scott O’Connor, a board-certified foot doctor in foot surgery and rear foot & reconstructive surgery, reminds us to be careful when they are walking on ice or shoveling snow during the recent rash of winter storms.

According to industry data, 1 million Americans sustain slip-and-fall injuries each year, and the risk of those sorts of injuries goes up this time of year. Slip and fall injuries also represent the primary cause of lost days from work. As recently as 2014, 42,480 workers required at least one day off from work due to injuries or illness from ice, sleet or snow, and 82 percent of those injuries (34,860) were due to slips or falls on even ground.

Dr. O’Connor and the Premier Podiatry team, welcomes your questions and concerns if you have suffered a slip or fall and are experiencing pain. Call us at 309-807-0384 in Normal, 309-467-2371 in Eureka and 815-842-6551 in Pontiac, or email us at info@premierpodiatry.net.
